We’re absolutely delighted to have been nominated by the Newcastle office of Irwin Mitchell as its Charity of the Year in 2018 – and they’ve set an ambitious target of £7,000 of fundraising through a range of initiatives, including colleague fundraising, team challenge events and by hosting a charity dinner.
Laura Elliott, Fundraising Manager from Tynedale Hospice at Home said: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen by Irwin Mitchell as its Charity of the Year. Their enthusiasm and dedication to our cause and their plans for fundraising over the coming year knows no bounds and we can’t wait to support them in their various activities as the year unfolds.
The national law firm’s Charity of the Year initiative sees staff across each of its offices hold a range of events throughout the year to raise funds for local causes which have been selected through a vote.
The programme is part of the work of the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation, an independent charity which last year celebrated its 20th anniversary and has raised more than £1.6 million for charities in the UK and abroad.
Paula Myers, Regional Managing Partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Newcastle office, said: “The Charity of the Year initiative has been a fundamental part of our efforts to actively support the local communities where we are based for many years and we are proud to have helped a number of incredible causes along the way.
“Tynedale Hospice at Home is a fantastic cause and we are already hard at work planning the range of events which will be held across the year to raise vital funds to support the incredible work it does.”
As part of their commitment to the charity, Irwin Mitchell has automatically become part of our Business Ambassador Scheme which is open to businesses of all sizes who are passionate about making a difference in the community in which they work.
