Tynedale Hospice at Home has been on a strong upward journey in the last 3 years with the retail side of the charity going through a period of change and growth.

As a part of our ongoing strategy for retail growth we are delighted to invite applications for the following full time vacancy:-

Retail Support Manager

  • Full Time 37.5 hours per week. Hours to be worked 5 days Monday to Saturday (with a flexible day off)
  • Based in shop network (including Hexham, Ponteland and surrounding areas)
  • Car owner/driver essential
  • Salary £18,000 per annum plus benefits

This postholder will be responsible for the ongoing support of our retail outlets in addition to the development of our online eBay sales.

(Please note this role will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.)

This role will report directly to the Retail Area Manager and will have day to day responsibility for the shops and their team of volunteers.

Together with support from the Retail Manager and your team of colleagues and volunteers you will be responsible for sourcing, pricing and merchandising donated stock whilst monitoring sales against target. You will also play an active role in building and maintaining relationships in the local community.

Your core responsibilities will entail:-

  • Being responsible for the effective operation of the shop with responsibility for promoting the values of Tynedale Hospice at Home whilst being a positive ambassador.
  • Contributing to income generation to achieve maximum profit and sales targets through the retail outlet.
  • Being responsible for the day to day running of the shop, optimising sales including the use of eBay to sell higher value items and maintaining effective stock management and merchandising.
  • Assisting with the recruitment, management and training of shop volunteers
  • Carrying out day to day shop administration
  • Ensuring Tynedale Hospice at Homes policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

Job Title: Senior Nurse (Quality of Care) – 20 hours per week

Location: Community of Tynedale, Scots Gap and Ponteland

Tynedale Hospice at Home was founded in 1993 and is a charitable organisation providing nursing care to families in their own homes across the Tynedale, West Northumberland and Ponteland areas. Our mission is to ease the end of life journey for people in our Community. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Care Services adhere to statutory regulations and takes a lead role in developing robust and safe clinical governance processes, identify areas of clinical risk and undertake care audits in the office and community setting. This role will also involve supervising clinical practice

Following a successful probationary period it is expected that the post holder will be a joint Registered Manager working alongside the current Registered Manager

Job Title: Registered Nurse (Zero Hours Worker) and Hospice Support Worker (Zero Hours Worker)

Location: Community of Tynedale, Scots Gap and Ponteland

Description: 

Being diagnosed with a life limiting illness can be a daunting experience for many people and being cared for in their own home can make a big difference.  We are looking for motivated registered nurses and hospice support workers who are committed to delivering high quality end of life care. You will be employed on a zero hours contract. We are especially keen to recruit staff for night duty and weekends. Experience in community work, palliative and end of life care is desirable but not essential. These posts would be ideal for staff who wish to choose flexible working patterns.
