Tynedale Hospice at Home and Sinderhope Pony Trekking Centre brought bereaved children and young people together to connect, have some fun and try something new.
Spending time in this environment helped the children to build confidence, express their feelings in a different way, feel less alone and experience a real sense of achievement.
From gentle grooming to taking the reins, there were smiles, moments of courage and plenty of pride.
It gave the children a chance to step away from their grief for a while, make some connections (old and new) and simply be themselves.
Spending time with these beautiful animals helped the children and young people feel calmer and more confident.
A quote from a parent whose child attended said “My daughter thoroughly enjoyed going to Sinderhope Pony Trekking Centre. It was lovely for her to spend time with the horses and other children. As a family we really appreciate what Tynedale Hospice does and would encourage other families with bereaved children to use the amazing service they provide.”
