Tynedale Hospice at Home is looking for people who are passionate about making a difference in the local community to join its Board of Trustees.
Currently the Hospice has an active and vibrant Board made up of eight people with a range of background and experience and we’re looking for a further five to support our work and drive strategy forward.
Anne Francis, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “This really is an exciting time be joining the Board. We have seen some significant achievements in recent years, including a positive CQC rating, and a move to new offices. We also have a three-year strategy that will seek to develop our services.
“We would love to hear from people who can support and enhance the skill set of our current Board and help drive our strategy forward. In particular, we are looking for energetic, talented and committed people with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, who are used to being in a people-focused environment, and who can formulate and implement strategy.
“There is training and development available to support you in the role and the opportunity to work with a fantastic team of staff and volunteers who have the caring ethos of the Hospice at its heart, all working to support much needed services in the local area.”
We are keen to attract interest from people with relevant senior experience and expertise in the following areas.
- Clinical, medical, social care practitioners and/or Medical Administration/Management
- Income Generation/Fundraising
- Retail /Business Management
- Governance, Accountancy, HR or Law
The role is voluntary and Board meetings take place six times a year. Away-days will be held for strategic planning. Board members are expected to attend the Hospice’s AGM and to serve on one or more sub-committees and to take part in Hospice-wide initiatives or Working Groups held by stakeholders from time to time.
