Effective leadership is not only about strategic decision-making but also about understanding the people, processes and purpose that sit at the heart of our Hospice.

Our Senior Leadership Team are continuing their visits to our retail outlets and this time it was the turn of our Head of Finance, Nick Brereton. Nick spent the day in our Donation and Distribution Centre in Prudhoe. From sorting donations and organising stock to supporting the day-to-day operation of the centre, the experience provided Nick with valuable first-hand insight into the contribution our retail teams and volunteers make to our Hospice.
Nick was joined by a number of our amazing volunteers including our volunteer retail driver, Robbie Laing, who also has an exciting achievement of his own to celebrate. Robbie has recently been accepted into Sandhurst, where he will undertake officer training with the British Army. 🎖️
These hands on opportunities enable our leaders to see for themselves the commitment, expertise and dedication that underpin our work every day.
It also highlights the vital role our volunteers, staff and wider community play in generating the support that enables us to provide essential hospice at home care services to local families.
