Her latest challenge – to take on a sponsored head shave on Thursday, 1 February – is yet another brilliant example of her commitment to raising awareness and funds about the hospice and its work.
Sarah has been inspired to fund raise for the Hospice after she received bereavement support from Tynedale Hospice at Home’s Family Support Service following the birth of her identical twin boys who were stillborn in May 2012. The twins were conjoined and sharing organs.
She is hoping to raise £400 and will be donating the hair to The Little Princess Trust which provides wigs for children and young people who have lost their own hair due to cancer or other illnesses.
Sarah said: “I can’t thank the Family Support Service enough for the support we received. They provided a safe and confidential space where I could talk on a one-on-one basis, and share all my feelings and my sense of loss for as long as I needed to talk. It’s such a wonderful service and we will never forget the support we received.”
No stranger to daring fundraising challenges, Sarah and her husband Matthew abseiled from Middlesbrough’s Transporter Bridge in 2016, raising over £1,500 for the Hospice.
