Challenge events

Many people have a bucket list of ambitions or challenges they’d like to complete in their lifetime. Whether a challenge to you means climbing to Everest Base Camp, cycling the Coast to Coast, running the Great North Run, giving up smoking, losing a stone or hosting an event – get sponsored for completing your challenge and raise vital funds for the Hospice.

We have suggestions for challenges you can take part in or we’d love to hear your ideas! Why not take on several challenges from the list?

Tynedale Hospice at Home charity places will be available.

Take on this fun filled adrenaline 10K event which combines a run with obstacles, challenges and mud!

This popular event takes place at Hexham Racecourse and is a great day out for runners of all abilities. You can even walk or jog the course – it’s the taking part that counts!

Allendale Challenge

Saturday 6th April 2019

Taking place on Saturday 6th April and celebrating it’s 30th anniversary in 2019, the Allendale Challenge is a fundraiser organised by North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team but it is also an event that people do to raise funds for other charities.

Take part in what is considered by many to be one of the toughest challenge walks around and support two amazing local charities, Mountain Rescue and Tynedale Hospice at Home.

Hexham half marathon 10k, 5k and 1 mile children’s race

Sunday 14th July 2019

The course is all on road. The Half Marathon starts in Hexham, through Acomb and along to Corbridge then back to Hexham. Along beautiful country roads, it really is a challenging course to test your strength over the half marathon distance. It truly is a beautiful route with outstanding scenes. The route is one of few courses that provides full road closures throughout. There is also a 10k and a 3K so something for everyone.
