Light up a Life

Light up a Life

Although the pain of a loved one passing away is felt all year round, at Christmas time as families gather together, it can be a time of reflection and often sadness as we remember those who have died.

As Christmas approaches, we would like to invite you to remember your loved ones by making a donation in their memory and joining us for one of our Light up a Life services which will take place in Hexham, Prudhoe and Ponteland. By dedicating a light on our remembrance tree, you will be helping Tynedale Hospice at Home and your dedication will see a light shining brightly in memory of your loved one throughout the Christmas period.

These short services which are available to everyone of all ages, involve carol singing, a time of reflection and the lighting of candles in memory of loved ones before a tree of lights is lit.

This year’s services will be held at:

  • Prudhoe Methodist Church, Saturday 25th November at 4pm
  • St Mary’s Church, Ponteland, Sunday 26th November at 4pm
  • Hexham Abbey, Saturday 2nd December at 3pm

Staff and volunteers from our Family Support Team will be at our services to welcome you. Services are open to all ages and children are very welcome. Following each service there will be refreshments and mince pies to enjoy.

Dedicate a light in memory of your loved one and make a lasting difference to Tynedale Hospice at Home

Ahead of the services you can make a donation to Tynedale Hospice at Home in memory of a loved one.

Following your kind donation you will be sent a personalised card in which the name(s) of those you are remembering will be listed. You will also receive a memory star that you can use to write your own message on and either bring this to a service or hang it on your tree at home.

If you would like to speak to us about making a donation to Light up a Life or if you would like to attend one of our services, please call us on 01434 606 444 or email
