Leave a Legacy

Leave a Legacy

Invest in the future of hospice care at Tynedale Hospice at Home by remembering us in your Will.

Your Will is one of the most important documents that you will make in your lifetime. It will contain your wishes about where your assets will go and who you would like to help when you are gone. The writing of a Will can offer peace of mind that your wishes will be carried out and that you will leave a lasting legacy to the people or causes most important to you.

For most, family and loved ones will be the most important consideration when making a Will. However many people also choose to remember a favourite charity, perhaps supporting them in a way which was not possible during their lifetime.

Legacy gifts are a vital source of funding at Tynedale Hospice at Home and they are a vital source of the funding that we need to receive as voluntary gifts to continue providing services free of charge to our community.

Investing in the future of Tynedale Hospice at Home

In the future we will face new challenges and the need to change, to grow and to continue to develop the quality of our hospice care, while at the same time never losing our focus on caring and supporting children, adults and families in our local community.

Leaving a gift in your Will can help us to continue to make a difference in years to come and make you a part of the future of Tynedale Hospice at Home.

Every gift, no matter how small or large will make a difference.

How to Leave a Gift

There are three main ways you can support the work of Tynedale Hospice at Home in your Will:

A Residuary Legacy

This is a gift of all or a percentage of what’s left of your estate after all other payments have been made. It’s an effective way of dividing an estate between the people and causes that are important to you and can be more beneficial to charities as it won’t decrease in value due to inflation.

A Pecuniary Legacy

This is a gift of a sum of money of your choosing. It is possible to add a pecuniary legacy to an existing Will using a simple Codicil document. It’s worth bearing in mind that this type of gift will decrease in value over time as the cost of living increases.

A Specific Gift

This could be anything from a piece of jewellery or a property to a selection of shares.

What to do next

It is a simple and inexpensive process to have a Will drafted. To ensure your wishes are carried out exactly as you would want, we recommend that you seek appropriate, professional advice from a Solicitor.

If required we can provide you with a list of local solicitors that we work closely with. If you already have a Will, you can amend it as often as you wish by informing your Solicitor.

If you wish to add, alter or remove a gift, your Solicitor can draft a document enabling an update or alteration to an existing Will.
