Volunteer in our Charity Shops
If you enjoy friendly conversation and meeting new people then come and join us at one of our charity shops.
Our Shop and Book Shop volunteers are a vital part of the successful running of our shops – an important income stream. Volunteers work in teams helping to sort and display donated goods and serving customers. The shop is generally open between 9.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Saturday, but varies according to season.
Can you spare some time to help in our Hexham Shops?
Our Hexham bookshop and clothes shop are urgently seeking volunteers to help with our important retail efforts. In particular we are looking for anyone who can volunteer on Saturday mornings and Thursday’s. If you are interested and able to spare some time to help please contact us on 01434 600388 or email email@example.com for more details.
Your questions about volunteering in our shop answered
Our charity shops raise vital funds to support the work of Tynedale Hospice at Home; providing a significant percentage of the money needed to continue to provide care for people that want to die in their own home, provide lifts for those that have difficulty getting to and from hospital appointments and supporting families and individuals through bereavement.
As a shop or book shop volunteer you would be part of a very strong team and could find yourself helping and serving customers, sorting and pricing clothes and other items and helping with window displays other related activities.
You do not need any specific skills for this role. We will give you the training and support needed to become a productive member of our team.
Yes! Staff and volunteers are entitled to a 20% discount on all donated products. You will have a great opportunity to buy interesting clothing, books, CD’s and other items donated to the shop.
If you can spare a morning or an afternoon to volunteer with us we would love to hear from you. Contact our Volunteer Administrator to see if we have any opportunities to suit you.
Without our volunteers we would not be able to run our charity shops, it’s as simple as that, and without our shops we would not be able to provide our services to the Tynedale community.
