How can I help?

How can I help?

We must raise more than 90% of our funds from charitable donations and fundraising. Put simply, without your support we would not be able to continue our life changing work in your community – you really do make all the difference.

There are plenty of ways that you can get involved and support us. We realise that you might not be an adrenaline junkie or time rich but we’re sure that there will be at least one idea below that you can take on and get involved with.

If you would like help with your fundraising or if you would like to talk to us about an idea that you have please do get in touch.

You can call our fundraising team on 01434 606 444 or email fundraising@tynedalehospice.com.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Regular Giving

By making a regular donation to us each month you will help us to plan for the future and ensure the continued provision of all of our services.

You can donate by setting up a direct debit and we can help you do this online by clicking below.

If you would rather a direct debit form was emailed or posted to you please call us on 01434 606 444 or email fundraising@tynedalehospice.com.

Realise your Life List

Do Something Great

Many people have a bucket list of ambitions or challenges they’d like to complete in their lifetime. Whether a challenge to you means climbing to Everest Base Camp, cycling the Coast to Coast, running the Great North Run, giving up smoking, losing a stone or hosting an event – get sponsored for completing your challenge and raise vital funds for the Hospice.

We have suggestions for challenges you can take part in or we’d love to hear your ideas! Why not take on several challenges from the list?

Invest in our Future

Leave a legacy

Invest in the future of Tynedale Hospice at Home by remembering us in your will.

The Gifts in will range from 1% of an estate to 100%, or anything left over after other gifts have been made.

Legacy gifts in Wills can make a vital difference to Tynedale Hospice at Home and you can be assured that we will use your gifts to care and support families at some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Gift Aid your donations

Gift Aid is a scheme set up by HM Revenue and Customs that allows charities to reclaim the amount of tax you would have paid on your gift to us. Currently we can claim 25p for every £1 that you donate to us from your fundraising, and it won’t cost you a penny.

For example, for every £10 you give we can claim an extra £2.50 in Gift Aid. It may not sound like a lot, but the combined effect of our supporters signing up to Gift Aid makes a huge contribution to our annual running costs.

If you are a UK taxpayer you can sign up for Gift Aid below at no extra cost to you.

Donate to our Shops

We have 3 shops – 2 at Battle Hill in Hexham and 1 in Ponteland. All of our shops sell items donated by our wonderful supporters and the wider public.

You can pick up bargains on clothes, books, homeware and toys – there’s hidden treasure waiting for everyone.

If you have items that you’d like to donate you can drop them off at one of our shops or call us on 01434 600 388 to arrange a collection.

Host your own Big Tynedale Bake

Do you enjoy baking or eating cakes? If you think that you might be the next Mary Berry, or if you are simply looking for a great reason to get friends and family together then we are inviting you to rise to the challenge and host your very own Big Bake in aid of Tynedale Hospice at Home.

This could be a coffee morning, afternoon tea, bake sale, bake-off or, if you are whizz in the kitchen then you could even sell cakes and donate the sales to Tynedale Hospice. Whatever your idea, we can help you and make sure that your event rises to the occasion.

Volunteer

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you have the spare time and skills that you want to put to good use?  Then why not volunteer for us!

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, and make a difference in your local community.

We have a range of opportunities available and we provide on the job training, health and safety training and a staff member who will look after you.

If you’re interested in joining our team of volunteers, then an open mind and enthusiasm is all you need.

Celebrate with us

Do you have a birthday, anniversary or celebration coming up? If you can’t think of a present or you don’t really want a gift then why not invite friends and family to make a donation to Tynedale Hospice instead?

We can give you collection tins or wedding favour hearts and ensure that all your guests are thanked. For more information please call our fundraising team on 01434 606 444.

How Others Have Helped

There are so many incredible people and groups in our community who have helped the Hospice in amazing ways and raised so much through fundraising and we can’t name them all.

Here are a few highlights.

And I will walk ... 100 miles...

It's amazing what can be achieved with a pint and a discussion down at the local pub. Geoff and Kirk's beer-mat idea turned into an epic fundraising challenge which has raised more than £3,000 for Tynedale Hospice at Home!
