Care – when and where it counts

Care in the homeFor most people diagnosed with a terminal illness it’s difficult to know what to do next. Everybody s different and your personal circumstances will determine your individual needs. An early discussion with Tynedale Hospice at Home can help and we can provide the support you and your family need, as and when you need it, in a place of your choosing.

Our nurses and support workers liaise closely with your doctor and with community nursing staff to provide services in line with your care plan. This may include hands-on personal care, pain control, nutrition and help with mobility. The amount of time we spend with you may vary according to your needs, for some people a few hours daily is sufficient, while for others overnight care may be what is required.

Although you may not need our services until a later stage of your illness, it may be helpful for you to know about us and how we can help you make every day count. Our experienced staff are here to help reduce the stress that can be felt by you and your relatives and carers at a difficult and worrying time.
